Stay Alert
Oct 30, 2026
What if the greatest threat to your next level isn't the enemy attacking you, but a habit you keep refusing to change?
Sometimes the enemy doesn't need a new strategy because we keep repeating the same old patterns!
We pray for breakthrough but continue practicing behaviors that keep us bound. We ask God for peace but entertain unnecessary drama. We pray for better relationships but refuse to change how we communicate. We ask God for new opportunities but allow procrastination, fear, and inconsistency to sabotage the ones already in front of us.
Here's a hard truth: You cannot keep opening the same doors and complaining about fighting the same battles!
First Peter 5:8 reminds us to be sober and vigilant because our adversary, the devil, is seeking whom he may devour. But being spiritually alert isn't just about recognizing the enemy's tactics. It's also about recognizing our own destructive tendencies!
Sometimes we become so comfortable with unhealthy habits that we start calling them our personality.
"That's just how I am."
But what if that's exactly what God is trying to change?
What if your short temper, negative thinking, people-pleasing, procrastination, or inability to forgive is the very thing standing between you and the growth you've been praying for?
You cannot experience transformation while defending the behavior that needs to change!
Not every struggle is an attack from the enemy. Sometimes we're simply experiencing the consequences of patterns we haven't confronted.
So today, I challenge you to examine yourself. What triggers your unhealthy reactions? What habits are stealing your peace? What behaviors keep producing outcomes you don't want?
And most importantly, what are you willing to CHANGE?
Remember, self-awareness reveals the problem, but self-discipline helps break the pattern!
Don't allow yesterday's habits to sabotage tomorrow's possibilities. God has given you the ability to grow, mature, and make wiser decisions.
Your next level may not require another open door. It may require closing a few doors you've left open for far too long!
Are you asking God to change your circumstances while refusing to change the habits contributing to them?
Stay alert. Examine yourself. Break the cycle. Change the habit. Protect your purpose!
