SO YOU GOT AN ATTITUDE, HUH?

Sep 02, 2016

What type of attitude do you have?  Are you angry, frustrated, a little discombobulated, stressed, happy, or even grateful??  How would you describe your mental state right now?  Another question for you….are you exemplifying how you feel through actions or words?  What is coming out of your mouth?  What are you doing or not doing?

Attitude is that thing that can take you to high places, or it’s that thing that can bring you to a low.  The beauty about it is….the choice is YOURS!  You get to choose which direction you want your life to head in. Yep, that’s true! Surprised huh! No matter what people do or don’t do, say or don’t say, be or don’t be to you, you get to choose how you want to respond to it all!  You’ve heard it stated that your attitude determines your altitude.  Ask yourself just how high you want to go.

Dictionary.com describes attitude as the “manner, disposition, feeling, position, etc. with regard to a person or thing; tendency or orientation especially of the MIND”.  So the question is, are you safeguarding your mind to keep your life from having an ultimate fall?  Here’s a truth…having a bad attitude about any one thing is the same as having a spirit of pride about any one thing. What does a spirit of pride do?  It brings one to a low place.  God says in His word that “He gives grace to the humble, but the pride He will bring to a low”.  Don’t let pride or having a bad attitude, rule your life and the direction it’s heading in. Things may not be going the way you like (for the moment anyway), but just remember that this too shall pass.  It’s what you do in the midst of going through that’s going to produce the results at the end of the journey.

Instead of having a bad attitude, have an attitude of gratitude.  In the midst of trials, tribulations and situations, find you something to be grateful for.  In the midst of that, you’ll attract more of what you’re grateful for which probably will be opposite of what you are going through. As you walk through the valley of the shadow of death…keep walking.  Don’t stop to fuss, cuss, fight, get on your phone to gossip, get on social media…don’t stop for any of that! Keep walking…..keep going through.  As you go through that valley, just begin to talk to God about all the wonderful things that you are grateful for.  Before you know it, you’ll reach the end of that dark tunnel, seeing nothing but light and the glory of God upon your life all because you chose to keep moving, stay focused, check your attitude, and be grateful in the midst of it all! Gratefulness will take you a long way in life. Remember that!
