6 Ways to Master Next Level Thinking
#1 Develop a BIG Picture Mindset
Ok, so we are on to a new blog series. We took 10 weeks discussing 10 ways to get to a better YOU. This time around, I want to focus on your thinking.
The word of God tells us in Proverbs 23:7, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he”. If I could ask you who you are based on what you have been thinking on lately, what would you say? What has your mind been focused on here lately? Are you worried, frustrated, distressed, going through the motions of life…..are you depressed, thinking unfruitful thoughts, etc?
Whatever your thought life has been like lately……. will pretty much sum up who you are in this season. Wow…that’s a Selah moment! Have you been focusing on where you’re going more than where you’re at? If so, that means that you’re thinking about your big picture! Or, are you still frustrated, hurt, and mad about something that happened earlier this year, last week, last month, last year….shoot we can even go back 10+ years! Are you still in that place? If you answered yes to any of those time sequences then you have lost sight of where you’re going, and you’re focusing more on where you’re at or where you’ve been!
You can’t keep holding on to anger and bitterness! Why? It messes with your BIG picture! You can’t keep allowing your mind to remind you of all the mishaps in your life. Why? Because it’s messing up your BIG picture!
“When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. (1 Corinthians 13:11)
Think about it. What or who is keeping your mindset in a childish state? What’s setting you back instead of setting you up for greatness? I really want you to analyze it.
If you’re really going to master next level thinking so you can have next level living, then you’re going to have to have a BIG picture mindset!
Let me give you some tips for doing just that:
Forget those things that are behind, and press on towards your mark, your high calling, your goals, etc. Stop living in the past. Anger. Hurt. Bitterness. It’s time to let it go.
Stop allowing people from your past to control your future. You’re giving them too much power! Learn to let go and let God.
Develop a plan of action of where you’re going and how you’re going to get there.
Implement the plan. Don’t just write action steps. Take action steps!
Study and listen to people who are already where you’re going. Allow your mind, heart and spirit to receive juicy nuggets from them that can help catapult you to your greater!
Cut off people that are a distraction to your BIG picture mindset!
Understand that thinking and getting to your big picture is going to require sacrifice! Be ready.
Never stop learning. The more you learn, the more your mind will develop and give you opportunities to get to the next level of getting to your BIG picture.
Purge negative thinking and replace it with something that will inspire and motivate you.
Never stop thinking outside of the box! If you can imagine it, then you can have it!
It’s all about the BIG picture. You have to have sight. You have to know that you know! You have to expand your thinking so that it can expand your life. Pursue, and don’t you ever give up! It’s your time. Think BIG. Go BIG. Never stop imagining what could be. Go after it, and call those things that are not as though they were! You got this! You’re a BIG picture thinker! The world is yours for the taking! Remember that.
